I called on the car...its all original, garaged, service records...its on consignment at a local lot...I asked the sales guy to see if she would take 4K...I paid $6500 for a brand new one in 1979 just like it

Yea I know they had all kinds of troubles with those...called my BMW mechanic he said that the car no matter what condition of that year...should be only about $1000 to $1200 unless it was a frame up restoration...that seems might low for a car this clean

I agree that 1200 is a bit low for a pristine model. That low of mileage is suspicious, esp at a dealer.

That was my thoughts as well...that's about 3K a year

well if some old lady owned it that is prolly about right for miles. It could have sat for several years as well and not driven.
I personally think it is a little high. I would only go 2k but that is me.
