Z4 Roof Motor Seems Loud

Hi,

I've just purchased an 03 Z4 with 26k miles on it. The roof seems loud when I close and open it - specifically when it's just starting or just finishing the close/open process (the roof motor whines). Just curious to know if this is the standard or if maybe something is out of whack with mine. Any information is appreciated.

Oh, and my roof squeaks when the top is down, too. I've read a few other comments on that. Anyone have luck getting the squeak fixed? Otherwise I love the car.

You should get in another Z4 and compare. No way someone remote can assess if it's too loud or not.

I think I was looking for something like, "Mine is definitely noticeable" or, "I really can't hear mine at all - it's almost silent." I realize noise is somewhat subjective. Thanks for the input.

It's not silent at all. But not objectionable. About what I'd expect from motors tensioning cables within a softtop.

Mine is louder than definitely noticeable.
