hi everyone,

i'm seriously considering ordering a 330i with ED. i'm trying to plan out a rough itinerary but can't figure out whether the E.H. Harms drop-off locations (particularly the one in Munich) is open on weekends. I know the BMW Delivery Center is closed on weekends, but I can't get any info. regarding the hours for the drop-off locations at E.H. Harms. does anyone know what the standard hours of operation are for the drop-off points? Thanks for your help!

They DO NOT open on weekends thus you must drop it off on Friday before 4:00pm.

You might check w/ the Harms Munich's office during the weekday if you can arrage to drop the car off on a Saturday (i.e. leave a key w/ them during your visit, and take care all your paper work while you are there). I dunno if they will go for it, but I can tell you that they were VERY accomadating there, and I wouldn't be surprise if they do something like that.

cheers,

I've heard several times before that it was possible to drop off on weekends but you have to pay some money.

This guy (Jim) said that he arranged Sunday drop off for $75. Check out his page below and scroll down to The Dropoff Process

Hope that helps. And of course YMMV.

hmm, i was afraid of that. i was hoping to pick up my car on a friday, and i'd hate to have to drop it off the same day without getting any time in the car. maybe i can make a weekend out of it and drive around Germany for a few days, and drop it off on the following monday.

does bmw let you simply select a specific date for picking up the car (provided of course it's far enough in advance). i wouldn't be picking it up until June.

you have to pick a pickup date. it's recommended to place the order 3 months before your scheduled pick up date.

Your vehicle pickup date can be negiotated by your dealer through BMWNA. I finalized a change of date directly with BMWNA-European Delivery Division and my dealer on a conference call.
The telephone number for the Harms Munchen office, last June was: 089/326 10 11 and the FAX 089/326 10 40.
Herr Behrends, who speaks fluent English, asked me why I trusted my car to the biggest crook in Germany, alluding to himself and then commenced upon a lengthy conversation in the native tongue with my friend who was visiting his Mother in Munchen. He does not hesitate to chew you out if you screw up with directions, appointment times or other issues but got my car on the transporter that afternoon as promised. I think his office is on the third floor. He does a great job and has it together.
He had an email address at that time and you can finalize arrangements with him at a minimum cost. I cannot locate the email address but will continue to look.

I worked with Paul Byglewski via email at the Munchen Harms office in May and June of 2002. His email address was:
PByglewski@mail.ehharms.de
He is very helpful and will work with you regarding appontments and other drop off details.

Like someone here said, it may be possible. The only thing that Harms needs from you besides all your signatures is a single master key. So if you drop that off ahead of time and sign all the paperwork I can see it happen.

However, one of the things the Harms agent does in person is that he inspects your car for damage and makes you sign a paper that states that they have your car.

If something were to happen to your car during the weekend, you may have a problem.
