Hi I have the standard code 1222 Lambda Control 1. But I have come to find out the my rubber intake boot is ripped in a couple of different spots after the maf. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this before and wondering if that is why she's throwing a code. And yes I know I will have to replace it anyway. Just want to make sure I don't need anything else before I order. Thanks for all the help in advanced....:)

If you have damage to the intake boot, you will be letting 'un-metered air' into your engine.
That is basically air that the MAS has not detected and so your MAS and O2 sensors will constantly be fighting with each other to maintain the correct mixture settings.
I replaced mine and the difference was.....AMAZING!

I do understand how the MAS works but I was just looking for some opinions on if that could or is causing my code. And some how I just knew Pirate copy would come to the rescue....

well instead of starting a new thread I have fixed my code 1222 but now I getting a 1221 which is believed to be a o2 sensor if I'm not mistaken. And by the cars suck....

The car will run like a dog mate....or not at all
The mixture settings will be all wrong and so will run lean or rich.
