Sights in and around Denver/Co Springs?

We'll be traveling in and through Denver and Colorado Springs in what seems to becoming our annual camping trip out west next week.

We have an afternoon in the Colorado Springs area before driving down to New Mexico the next day.

On our return, we arrive Saturday mid-day to depart Denver airport the Sunday.

We are staying near the Air Force academy.

Any suggestions what to do/see when we are there?

Good places to check out for Saturday dinner?

We saw the cog railway on Pike's Peak, but not sure Mrs. Wingspan would be thrilled with the height (14,000+ feet :wow: ).

if your in to running, the cog rail would be excellent!! Its a mile straight up!! If you are, its right next to where you catch the cog rail (the real train). eating? you like mexican? try colorado hacienda....they are all over denver, but the best one is on I25 just as you get back into Denver..You will see it on the right hand side from the highway. If you pass the mall (the one on your right as you come back into Denver), you've gone too far.
