97 318i hesitates in acceleration when temp is near center(during high rpms, car will stall at low rpm). This pattern will continue for approximately 10-15 mins and then the acceleration will return to normal. I just had the plugs, valve cover gasket, spark plug gasket, mass air flow meter replaced. Any Help is appreciated.
There is no check engine light. There is no code, or else my mechanic would have discovered. It started doing this before it went to my mechanic, and after. My mechanic thought that he nailed it down by replacing the mass air flow meter. However, that seems to have been only part of the problem. The car quit on him only once. The car currently has 217K. I replaced the engine temp sensor about a year and a half ago when I had the radiator replaced. The car sat undriven for approximately six months. I don't think that it is a vacuum leak because my mechanic thoroughly checked the car out when he had it. I just got the car back about two weeks ago.

I agree, if there are no codes and you have had those bits replaced, is a difficult one

Are you loosing oil or coolant mate? Any white gunk in your oil or oil in your coolant?

I got the fuel filter changed and car is running better but still hesitates. Now it hesitates less. Here is my question.... As I have stated before.. I have a 97 318i sedan. I have replaced the air box with a high air flow filter. When I did this I disconnected the air pump which is no longer connected to anything. How can I connect the secondary air pump to the high air flow filter??

it may sound silly but how many miles have you done since all the work
it could just be your ecu needs to configure its self
it has been stood and you have changed a few parts
take it for a good 50mile see if that solves it
