1989 325i WON'T SPARK, Can't hear fuel pump

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 89 325i that won't start............took to a shop, no spark, can't hear fuel pump.
Tried replacing Main Relay, same condition.......no start............tried replacing ECU, same condition........no start.

Heres what I did (YES MAJOR ERROR on my part) was trying to clear out the maintenance service indicator. I (dumb... me) didn't get the right port............I disconnected the Main wire connector from the fuse box and grounded out #7 on the fuse box side of the connector, not the pins going to the ECU. Nothing happened when I did this, no sparks, no smoke. It did not blow any fuses or relays from what I can tell.

I'm wondering if the anti-theft has anything to do with this. Or if someone can PLEASE help me. Not sure where #7 wire from the connector going to fuse box goes and controls.

Maybe I have to reset anti theft or something, never used it before, didn't have to punch in any code to start. Is there a way to clear it? Shop said that the ECU is not receiving a signal.

HELP PLEASE!!!!! Thanks Bruce89..........

check your crank sensor i am pretty sure thats it, mines had the same thing no spark and no pump power and it was the crank sensor.

Spoke to the repair shop yesterday, said the crank sensor was good. Said the were leaning toward a burnt wire. Hope they find it soon, the labor rate of 110 per hour is gonna KILL me. It's hell when you breakdown while traveling. Thanks for help
