I have an LG VX9900 enV phone (Verizon) that links perfectly with the Bluetooth system in my car. (2007 335xi) I just have a question about how the car places calls. When the phone is linked, do calls go out via the car's antenna system or is it via the phone itself? My understanding is that for phones that have a mounting crade, such as the RAZR, they tie into the car for charging and broadcasting via the antenna. Is that correct? since no crade is available for my phone my thought is that the phone is dong all the work. Is there anyway to charge the phone and tie into the antenna without a cradle? Oh, if it matters, I have iDrive, NAV, and the iPod adapter (6FL). Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you do not have a cradle, the phone is doing the work for reception. The cradles offer charging and a bit of boost in reception.
