Hi All,

I, like many others before me, am having a bit of bovva with the heating in my 98 Touring 318.

It is the digital unit, i have already replaced the capacitor within the unit and i now want to replace the output Resistor? Can anyone tell me how to do this? (i think it resides behind the glovebox)

If this unit is at fault any ideas on how much they are?

Cheers in advance

John

I paid AU $60 for a second hand unit from a wrecker. New ones from the dealer are around $130. Mine's an analogue system.

I have seen them on eBay for circa US $30-40.

Common symptoms are where it works on higher fan settings, but not on lower ones. Or where fan speed 1 = speed 2.

How: I think this is an analogue, but I understand the ditial Climate Control is similar on the resistor.

[Edit:] Actually, that procedure is for LHD cars. You would go in through the passenger side.

And welcome to the fest.
