NGK Iridiums?

I have a 95 325i, and according to NGK all I can get are the regular NGK plugs, but I hear you all talkin about the Iridiums like there the best thing for the car but is that the right kind to get for a 95 325i? Part Number: BKR6EIX ?

Search for it! If we get a dime for everyone asking about the Iridiums, we'd all be driving M6's by now.

And yes. OEM plugs for bimmers are NGK platinums, so the iridiums are a perfect fit. They work more efficiently than the OEMs.

Today I finally replaced my BKR6EK with my new BKR6EIX. Turned the key and it idled like silk.

But when I took it for a drive, it was a total BTICH until it warmed up. Cruise throttle was chunky and felt like it was misfiring.
[Edit: Cruise = holding 70km/h or slight acceleration]

Full throttle *seemed* ok.
A few mins after temp gauge hit centre, things got better, but I still noticed a trace of it.

Do plugs need to "burn in" or similar?

I wouldnt worry too much

Put 50 miles on them and i am sure all will be well buddy

The ECU\DME is adaptive but may take a few miles to sort itself out :)

btw. my 325i is junky too when it's cold (with the NGK Iridiums). even in the summer. it just needs to warm up perhaps, but i'll toss the crap out on the next plug change and put the regular BOSH ones in!
even a specialist recommended the originals. everything else is a waste of money. you can do whatever you want, but i trust that particular specialist, as he's done loads of custom electronic things on various BMWs.

Although i dont have a 325i, the iridiums are WAY better than the stock plugs on my 328i and mums 320i :)

They made no difference to mine, but I only have a 318i and I don't think anything can make a difference to such a car!

who recommends that to you? im curious, probably we have same mechanic... then again, mine put in NGK normal ones... not Bosch.

he also said that regular NGK plugs are ok, but he recommended BOSH ones which cost around 78eek(£3.40) each

yup, patrick. Trust him as well, very much. Very much a perfectionist, great for personal mechanic. I changed spark plugs at Valdek's place though.
