I was just wondering, since I heard other vehicles in the bmw line have front and rear.
Also I noticed that it's rare to see it on a "lot" vehicle. If I want it, would it have to be a special order build from the factory?
Thanks everyone.
Yes.
and
Most likely, yes, but SMG M3s include it standard I believe.

Yes, and no, it's listed in the accessory catalog (link to Pacific BMW (http://www.pacificbmw.com/catalog/access/detail.asp?pid=52&category=5§ion=22&model=E46)). It's cheaper to order it from the factory, and I seem to remember reading someplace that installation after manufacture is a massive PITA.
I've seen the install info before and it looks like a PITA. The only time you would HAVE to do it as an accessory install is on a 325 non-wagon since 325s aren't available with PDC.

We probably ran across the same DIY. It sounded ugly... :eeps: The dealer's not going to order it for floor stock, so if someone is intent on buying from dealer inventory and they're intent on having PDC, they'll have to find a way to get it installed somehow.
