Knocking noise when I turn

I hear a knocking noise in the front suspension when I a turn my steering . Has anyone had this problem and what was the solution ...

i hear a sound like that every now and then and sometimes when i turn and make a loud thud noise then the screen says dyamic drive inactive.

This is most likely unrelated but in my 7 I have a weird plastic knocking noise from what seems to be very deep in the left side of my dashboard...its only when I am turning left and hit a bump. It doesnt sound like its far enough in toward the front of the car to be the strut or shock...but it is very annoying.

The problem might be the steering rack. I had mine repaired for 700 EUR.

I have same problem, complained to delear many times...nothing done..till my warranty is over now but they promised me to look into it next time I bring it for service. Dunno what's the problem exactly.

Damn I thought it was just me. I have a 2002 and just had my brakes changed and ever since then pretty much when my car is still and I turn the wheel left or right it a knocking noise or a noise that sounds like teeth kinda grinding and popping. I dont know what the hell it is. I wen in for service two days ago and had some other stuff done and aske them to look into that but on the sheet that fixed everything else but it said they couldnt duplicate the problem. Next time I go ima make sure im in the car and personally show them. I thought it was my wheels at first but I had this set on the car for about 5 weeks before hearing it. If anyone knows please pm me and let me know?

I have a similar problem to this (not the grinding that some other person mentioned) , where when I turn hard or bump, I get a knock sound from the dashboard. Kinda like knocking on a coconut. Anyone know what that is?

BTW, just had my front thrust arms replaced so it's not that. The sound comes from the dashboard so I doubt it's suspension , however, if someone knows otherwise please let me know.

i think its a little module that they replace, maybe not but i know they aint replacing the entire rack and pinion for 800-1200
