You guys call the most fcuked up things RICE. Lowering springs are not rice, no way , no how. RICE are things that get put on cars that provide no performance, only asthetics. That being said, the only time you can call something RICE is when a car has quite a few "asthetic mods" like vinyl and a huge ugly wing. Just because a company makes things mainly for Japanese vehicles doesn't make their products RICE. I'm sick of hearing that fcuking word, espescially when it's used in the wrong context. Stop being fools, think before you open your mouth and Don't jump on the RICE bandwagon.FCUK!!!

I think they are rice, rice doesn't mean point less sh1t that people put on their cars hell i've seen a lot of euro tuners that look like sh1t. tein is a japanies company and they make a lot of stuff for hondas and nissans, and a lot of the fast and furious wanna be racers buy their stuff. so in my eyes that is rice, also you don't need to be a complete dick about what someone said, just correct them nicely.:)

We have had a lot of success with H&R and Eibach. Here are a few kits that work well on the E36:

H&R Sport Springs (http://jlevistreetwerks.com/store/BMW-E36-3-Series-Suspension/c30_39_104/p532/H&R-Sport-Springs-for-the-BMW-E36-M3/product_info.html?osCsid=8d1b37bdc1fac6e5056d626ad 8321766)

H&R Race Springs (http://jlevistreetwerks.com/store/BMW-E36-3-Series-Suspension/c30_39_104/p533/H&R-Race-Springs-for-the-BMW-E36/product_info.html?osCsid=8d1b37bdc1fac6e5056d626ad 8321766)

Eibach Pro Kit (http://jlevistreetwerks.com/store/BMW-E36-3-Series-Suspension/c30_39_104/p474/Eibach-Pro-Kit-Springs-for-the-BMW-E36/product_info.html?osCsid=8d1b37bdc1fac6e5056d626ad 8321766)

I vote H&R but if you want to go for something good, get some Bilstien coil-overs!!

what's a coil-over?:P
and do you think 60/40mm drop would be OK on rough roads etc..? or will it be too low?

coil overs are like fully adjustable suspension kits, it's usually what race cars run or supercars. they can adjust like ride hight, and stiffness some other stuff too.

unfortunatly they're expencive, like over $1000.

i was not necessarily saying that everything japanese made is bad, but i would rather provide some US brands business. H&R and Eibach being US brands. I also personally think they are a better brand anyway.

Has anyone ever put m3 spings in a stock e36? Im wondering how much of a drop there is or how they compare (stiffness-wise)to say Eibachs or H&Rs?

Nick@Jlevi SW

For the price, I think you are better off with an aftermarket set. M3 springs are a nice upgrade but you can get so much more in terms of a better performing and more sporty ride setup out of aftermarket springs.

I think Koni makes springs for the e36 too. I have no idea about relative quality between the 3. I am sure they are all more than acceptable.

Thanks,
Was just wondering if anyone had done the m3 spring deal. I bought a set on Ebay and will report back about the feeling of them once I install them. I have the Koni's (which I understand are made by Eibach) on the car now with the Koni Adjustable shocks/struts. That on top of solid control arm bushings and urethane rear trailing arm bushings have made the car plenty stiff, but at a cost of long term ride comfort. I love tha fact that turn in response is spot on, but if you have to be in the car for more than an hour it's no fun. I can swap springs out in an afternoon so it's no big deal cost-wise. Im just wondering what kind of car I will have when I am done. I have a feeling they will be stiffer than stock, but not as stiff as these Koni/Eibachs I have on the car now. My plan is to run the M3 springs in the off season and go back to the Konis for the SCCA racing I do.
