Door Lock/unlock question

i have a 1998 bmw 328i and my passenger door will not lock or unlock with the alarm remote, but when i go the door and use the key it will lock or unlock, now is this a fuse problem or the lock actuator? if its the fuses are these the right ones to look at
7, 28, 31, 35, 45. thanks for the help in advance

My first question would be...does the car have remote central locking. If it does, and the rest of the car doors lock with the remote, I would suggest you look at the actutaor, or the striker for the particular lock that dosnt work.

It could be that its just worn and bent over time and should be able to be fixed quite easly.

Take the door panel off and you should be able to solve the problem.

If the rest of the locks dont work, I would suggest looking at fuses and relays or even power to the unit.

I have a '95 325iC. I've had a problem with fuse #35 shorting. I believe it is related to the convertible top, but it also affects the central locking system. When fuse 35 is blown, central locking fails.

I've just discovered this since. I still can't figure out where the short is coming from, though. I think it is pinched wire, but I can't find it yet.
