Hi everyone. I'm sitting in my hotel room in the Dorint Sofitel waiting to go home at 7 am tomorrow, so I thought I would post some pictures of our trip. We started out in Paris on 8/9 and flew to Munich to pick up the car on 8/14.

1) Arrive in Paris - obligatory Effiel Tower shot

2) Buying some stuff

3) Pondering some art outside the Louvre (Art is not my thing).

4) Holy crap (more "art" outside the Louvre)

5) Some famous church

6) Check out the bird

7) 19 Euros for a cheeseburger

8) After spending almost 30 bucks on a cheeseburger, we couldn't afford an umbrella

9) We ducked into a gyro shop to get out of the rain. This bird had the same idea. (Notice the bird only has 1 foot)

Next post will actually have something about bmws in it.

Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like you had a great time. 19Euro for a cheeseburger??!?!?! That's insane  I kinda had the same itinerary you did except I picked up first and went to Paris after. The picture of the Champs Elysse street sign brought back fond memories :)

Btw you need to change your profile. It still says 328. It threw me off for a second.

I can see the wistful breaking of "The Fellowship" as you're about to let others place it on a ship :( I can only imagine the wait for redelivery must seem eons for some of us.

Beautiful car, great pics. I'm going from Munich to Paris, hopefully the weather cooperates while I'm there in November. The white M3 I recognize right off the bat - it was the one reviewed in the latest eddition of Roundel (the BMW magazine, of course). Thanks for sharing your pics! :)

Why did you put the art in quotation marks? No art to you?

You've got many of such statues in the US?

What kind of GPS is that, and where did you get the mapping to put into it?

It is a Garmin Nuvi 370. It comes with all the maps of Europe pre-loaded. It worked great through Munich and into Salzburg/Zurich. It made everything much easier...would highly recommend.

He studied ancient Greek in the Gymnasium hence I had to (private tutor) since no one teaches it any more. Fortunately, that didn't last very long but as long as I was able to rattle off a few quotations in ancient Greek at dinner that seemed to make him happy. Then we went back to Latin

Good deal; Latin has helped in court, and with Anglo-axon bits in English. DLI, ahhh - 88/89, Russisch. What a great highway drive, along Hwy. 1

Contrary to all the rumors you may have heard, Paris is not the best place for a hamburger.

More about hamburgers in Paris:

Vincent: And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the f**k a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King.

May I ask how much over invoice you paid? You have the exact same model I'm getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I took redelivery today. It was a courtesy delivery, and I was a tad suprised how brief it was. I called the trucking company, so I knew the minute the car was dropped off at the dealer. The manager called me yesterday to tell me the car was in and that it needed to be mechanically inspected (I asked them not to detail it). I went in today to pick it up. I asked for the manager and was shown his office. He said to me something along the lines of: here are your keys...it's parked out front. They handed me a temp tag and the keys and said goodluck. Luckily the tool kit was still in the trunk, so I was able to attach the temp tag to get myself home. At least they took the liberty of putting on a license plate frame with the dealer's name on it. Just for reference, I paid the normal $500 fee for the courtesy delivery. They weren't rude...just extremely brief. Perhaps the guy could have maybe shook my hand or shown me to the car or something..I'm just happy to have the car back. My Zaino kit came in today, so I'm going to give the car a good going over and will post some more pictures tomorrow. Overall I'm pleased with the whole experience. The ED trip was a blast, the purchase process was straightforward, and my car was returned to me 6 weeks later without damage.
