I sent in my request for the rebate on April 6, 2007 and we picked up our car on April 12. I still have not received the rebate. I have contacted Linda Axelson in the club and when she last checked, she found that the form was received on April 10 and entered into the system on May 2 and it was 'pending review' as of July 9. My question is... is anyone else still waiting for their rebate and, is there someone else I should contact to check on the status. There is not an issue with membership length as we have been BMWCCA members for 18+ years.
Thanks..

My took around 8 weeks. Submitted mid-May and received check around mid-July. I'd call them again if I were you!

I picked up my car the same date as you did and submitted the rebate form in June and have not heard anything since. I think that I will follow up next week.

Please post your findings. As I recall we are in a similar situation. I too am still waiting.

I waited until re-delivery to send in my request - wasn't aware that you could send that right after you paid for the car (before heading to germany)

I've mailed mine before leaving for Germany as well, with the presumption that they will get it after I am there.
Has worked like a charm.

Sent mine in around second week of April and got my rebate in about eight weeks.

I have been waiting at least 10 weeks now as well, what is the number to call to check on the status?

I emailed Wynne Smith [wynne_smith@bmwcca.org] at BMWCCA and got the following reply: "BMW NA verified your membership in the club on July 12, you should be seeing something from them any day now."
Note that I had mailed my rebate application form on June 18.

I mailed mine in mid April, recieved it about 11 weeks later. This was with a address problem (they sent it to the wrong address, had it returned and resent).
BMWCCA confirmed that BMWNA confirmed my active membership status, but it's still been 11 weeks since I sent it in.

I sent mine in back in August, the week before going to pick up my ED. It's been about 3 months and I haven't seen my check yet.
I called about a month ago and they confirmed that it is in the system. I guess they're just a bit slow in sending the checks out lately.

That's seems like a pretty long wait! My delivery was on Aug 17th and dropped off on Sept 3rd. Mailed in the rebate form around Sept 9th and recv'd my rebate check on Nov 12th. What a great benefit by the way! How often do you get to turn $40 into $500?
Hmm....next time I plan on turning $40 into $1,000!!!

I've been patiently waiting, hoping to turn this into a story with a happy ending. As my sig shows, I did my pick up in April. At the time I did my planning and ED the understanding for the membership requirement was that it was one year until redelivery in the US. Although the membership requirement has been changed now, that was the understanding a year ago when I planned my trip. I joined BMWCCA, and scheduled my ED and bought my plane ticket (nonrefundable) so that the one year requirement would be met at redelivery. Oldtimers will remember the controversy about this a year ago. Then the rule of one year membership was changed to be until pick up in Munich. By that time, every thing for me was planned, set in stone. Wynne Smith, the Executive Director of BMWCCA said that she would appeal any rejections caused because of this change.
Since my last post on this topic, I received a rejection of my application for the reward (that was in Sept) So I sent in a request to Wynne for an appeal. And so far, I have not heard anything, not even an acknowledgement that request was received.
So I'm still trying to be optimistic, and have sent a couple of inquiries to the club.
I think that one of the basic rules of fairness is that if one tries to play the game by the rules, and the rules change, that one should be judged by the old rules.
I hope to be able to post good news soon.

The rule wasn't changed. The BMW Club had interpreted the rule incorrectly.
Wynne is retiring as the director and may not be reachable by the way.
Although you did make travel arrangements very far in advance based on this, most people do not and my understanding was that she would address the problem of those who were rejected last year.

I got my $1000 rebate in 8 weeks after I sent it in. It came this past week. With these things it is always critical to make copies of the completed application and follow up if need be.

Can anyone clarify the rule for me?
Do you have to be a BMWCCA member for 1 full year BEFORE you sign the purchase paperwork? Or, do you have to take delivery after you have been a member for 1 full year?

That may be true, but the Club seemed to have some kind of influence regarding the interpretation of the rule, as we all know that for a while, the reward was indeed paid based on the Club's interpretation.
It is exactly what she said she would do, but now that she is retiring, it would be the easiest out for the next person to say, "Sorry, that isn't my problem". I'm hoping there is some continuity.

I am sending you a PM with instructions on how to proceed.
