hi, can anyone help me with a really annoying problem ? sometimes my steering is fine, but at other times, usually when i'm doing around 100 kph my steering wheel will start shaking and can last for a few seconds or a few minutes, then it will go away. then it might not happen for a few days, but then will happen again. Also, I have noticed my offside front will is sometimes excessively covered in some kind of black soot or something, but there is no indication as to where it is coming from. I can only assume that these two problems are related in some way. Anybody any ideas as to what could be causing either or both of them ?
thanks

Hey buddy

Someone had a very similar problem recently, have a read of this - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=223823

Does it get worse or stop when you brake?

if I touch the brakes while at high speed it happens, but if not travelling so fast and I brake it doesn't happen !

Possible you have a slightly warped rotor or bad pad mate

I would get them checked

Check your torque settings on your lug nuts.
