Hi guys,
I join the community today, but i read on this forum for a long time!I have my ''beauty'' from march this year and the engine has only 134000 km but the car is made in September '97.After running without problems :) now, i think ,comes one.So... when the fuel tank is full -no problem;when the tank is 1/4 the car don't wanna start ! what to do? what is the problem?
Any idea are more then welcome (i really don't want to go to BMW garage :D ).

I read in past on this forum about a similar problem but really now when i need it i can find it!
Thanx in advance!

Thank you
NO,The plugs are new.And diesel filter also.'till i change the diesel filter was no problem, after that the problem comes.I think the filter or from someware some air get in the system (theoretic when the tank is full the liquid made pressure and when is empty the pomp need ''time'' to bring the diesel to plugs ,if the air comes in). -I'm not a mechanic ...it's my opinion!!!

I am not sure about BMW's but Most cars have a sock or net type filter in the gas tank. Older gas tanks get rust chunks and particles in it. The sock is typically towards the bottom, but most of the rust floats. When the fuel level gets about sock level, the sock clogs up and you don't get enough fuel. If I were to guess, I would say this is your problem.

I drive a 325TD. Be careful where you buy your diesel. I never buy anything but Shell V-Power. A tiny bit more expensive but well worth it.
When I first got the car I noticed it wasn't picking up as quickly as it should. After a couple of tanks of V-power and deisel additive the car purrs now with no issues.

THe rust in the tank might possibly be an issue and I thought this when I first got the car.

I sypthoned of a small bit of diesel from the tank making sure that the sypthon tube is long enough to reach the bottom of the tank. leave the sypthoned diesel settle for a couple of hours and see if there was any sediment in it.

Dont do what I did, I used my mouth and I can testistify that diesel tastes worde than petrol.
