It's possible that this question has been asked on the forum. How long does it normally take to pick up the car at the delivery center?

Depends on how many people are ahead of you (if any). 1 hr would be a fast delivery and 2 hours would be normal. That is from the time you arrive to the time you are driving out.

We did an afternoon pickup once at about 3pm and we were the only ones there so it went quickly. On my second 330 I just told the delivery person (the famous Bernhard) to "give me the keys" so I could hit the road. They are happy to take the time to go over all the features of the car but if you don't want or need that you can save a good amount of time. Oh yeah...don't forget to snap a photo of the virgin odometer.

Based on only one experience, may not be meaningful, but we arrived just as they opened and there were only two other customers there. We got "our name in the hat" and went up to the cafe area to get a cup of coffee. Before we finished the first cup, the delivery agent came up and said he would have a cup with us while they drove the car around. From the time we arrived in a cab till we were looking at the car was maybe 15-20 minutes.

Arrived around 11pm and was out at 12:30. It was about a 45 min wait in the cafe, 15 min of paperwork, and 30 min to go over the car. If you are in a rush you can skip the last part. The reps will tell you as little or as much about your car as you want to know.

From what I've read once the Welt opens it sounds like the delivery process may be more elaborate, this could lengthen the delivery time.

Here's an opinion. Try not to rush it. Soak it in, lap it up. Its like saying, how much time to see the Eiffel Tower?

You don't do BMW delivery that often, so give it a little more time, and enjoy the process. I've done 3 EDs, and I've never wanted to hasten the process. Enjoy the food, ambiance, and hospitality - with all the knowledge that your car is only minutes away from your hands.

Ja, I think I had one of the latest deliveries in November 2005, when the Center was already closed and Herr Roller and I (we were both over at the Welt construction site) came back around 17.45. I drove out around 18.30.

I would soak up as much as I can. Its a vacation after all..so why make haste?:dunno: I plan on spending as much time as it takes at the delivery center (within a limit, of course). Don't get me wrong, I don't want to spend the entire day at the center either.

I would just go with the flow and relax.:bigpimp:
