After market fuel pump for 91 535i?????

My fuel pump is shot. BMW dealer quoted me $400 just for the pump. :cry: Are there any after market pumps that are compatible? Also, does this replacement require one of their "special tools"?

It's likely a Bosch made pump. Your local autoparts shop should be able to get something that would work

www.bmwe34.net - this site tells you how to replace a fuel pump; as for the fuel pump itself, mine went dead a few months ago, I went to a breakers yard and picked one up for £25 (About $46). Took me about 2-3 hours doing it, but I saved alot of money.
