Ok, I am not going to lie. I enjoy a spirited drive every now and then. Who doesn***8217;t?
But I noticed something unusual about my tires. When I take a corner hard (within the cars limits of course), the car handles the turn perfectly and I don***8217;t lose control, however when I turn the radio off and do it I can hear a squeak from the tires.
This happens sometimes without DSC engaging and sometimes with. I have the OEM tires (Eagle RS-As) and I am wondering if its just because they are all season tires. Or if I am wearing them down way too much.
I don***8217;t think it is my car though.
Should I buy better gripping tires? Do I need to do some suspension modification such as a strut bar or something? Has anyone ever experience this and is it even a big deal?
I always imagine the people driving behind me laughing at me because of the noise, although I do not even hear it unless the radio is off.
:dunno:

Check your tire pressure. Sounds to me that your PSI could be to low. Good luck

GoodYear "Screamin Eagles"! They are well known for being rather noisey tires while cornering. Other Brands such as Michelin or Conti are typically much better than GoodYear Eagle RS-A's when it comes to tire noise when driving in a spirited fashion.

"Spirited" driving will make almost any tyre squeal. Check;
1. Pressures
2. Wheel alignment
3. Brand of tyre (Long lasting 'hard' rubber will often squeal long before more expensive soft rubber).
4. Driving technique?
Remember, whilst harder rubber may last longer, it is 'squealing' because it has lost grip. If they squeal in the dry, they will probably 'let go' in the wet! DANGER!
As a rule of thumb...the softer the rubber/silica the better the grip/the more expensive. You get what you pay for. Two things I NEVER skimp on is tyre and oil costs.

Trust me, I develop tires for an OEM..... it's the Eagle RSA tread pattern.

Just out of curiosity, is this your e46 or your 5'er?
