I ordered the BSW Sirius Connect Satellite Radio Integration Kit for my E46, and I still want to do the ipod connection some how trying to avoid the entire over the radio waves adapter. This AUX input I read somewhere is that possible on the 01 model? what about something like drive by HK:

I am looking for any ideas or advice you guys might have. I am not looking forward to cluttering the panel with electronics that is why the AUX thing makes the most sense, but if any thing else comes to mind please advice.

Don't bother with the Drive & Play, instead go with the DICE iPod kit:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=268

The DICE iPod Kit will integrate perfectly with your BMW and offer steering wheel control as well as ID3 text and charging of your iPod. Full CD Quality can be expected after installation. There's even an integrated AUX port for other devices.

The kit will come with everything needed w/ the docking cable. The iPod can be safely stored away in the glove compartment for 100% stealth installation and accessed completely from the steering wheel controls. The DICE comes with a 15-foot cable length to reach anywhere in the vehicle you like. We have tutorials at the following links:

Let me know if you have any further questions.

That will not help him. The Connect is using the CD Changer connections.

That being said you could use a DICE and then with the DICE there is an AUX input and you can use an XM system with an external screen. Then everything is integrated and just have 1 extra screen in the car.

Or ditch the Connect and get an integrated system:

e46 BMW Business CD Radio Upgrade - iPod/AUX/Sirius
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?cPath=67_69_140_143&products_id=286

XM Direct Satellite Radio Package for BMW & Mini
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=267

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=268

It's a bit more expensive, but it's a true integrated system that allows steering wheel control and test info on the OEM radio display without the need for additional clutter in the cabin.

The AUX port on the DICE will still be open afterwards if another device is needed.

counting that I just ordered this yesterday: (overnight too) http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/product.php/II=506/_cid=301
What you guys are saying I should have have gone with DICE then after market Sirius player VIA the aux port rather than this unit above?

I forgot to mention I was told that this: http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/product.php/II=506/_cid=301 and Dice can not go together. Either one or the other.

You're correct - it's one or the other with the Sirius Connect kits.

To be perfectly fair - we're comparing Sirius vs XM equipment costs. If you were to use the Sirius kit, this would be what you needed instead of XM:

Sirius Satellite Radio - e46 3-series/M3 Coupe & Sedan

The Sirius kits come with 1 year of programming in the package. If you would like detailed information, feel free to contact me by phone or email.
