95 M3 Coupe, when I push the button to put the sunroof in vent mode, back lifted, my inside liner does not move. I was told it should slid back half way on its own. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Thank, new owner.

Welcome to the fest

It should raise a little but not slide back buddy

I have a factory sunroof. When you go into vent mode, the rear of the sunroof should lift and the roof liner (inside the car) should indeed go back about 1/2 way.

When you open the roof, the liner should go back with the roof.

If you want I will take, and post a video of its operation.

If your sunroof does anything when you press the button, just say a little prayer and thank the Bavarian gods of E36 idiosynchracies for sparing you from their wrath.

when you put it into vent mode the inner liner should move back half way, like cone said. next time you try to go into vent mode, press the button and let the outer panel pop up then if the inner liner is still not moving try it with your hand by pushing it back, it should move relatively freely until it reaches half way then you'll notice it hit like a stopper. if this is the case then you inner liner is not connected to your sunroof track.
