I plan to immediately swap out the OE run flats when my car arrives next month.
I got the 18" wheel option BTW.
The reason is that we get snow on the ground where I live (not dar from seattle) about a month out of the year and the summer perforance run flats are supposed to be useless in snow (even with an XI).
I've done a lot of reading on TireRack (http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=index.jsp).com and have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
1. Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE960AS+Pole+Position)
2. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+A%2FS)
I'm leaning toward the Bridgestones (http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=/tires/bridgestone/bridston.jsp) as their wet weather performance ranks highest (and yes, it does rain here constantly)...actually, they rate higher in every category. Having said that, the Michelins (http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=/tires/michelin/michelin.jsp) have many more "reviewed" miles, meaning 18 million versus 1.5 million for the Bridgestones (http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=/tires/bridgestone/bridston.jsp).
Any opinions here?
Also, anyone near seattle in the market for my brand new run flats (well, 400 miles on 'em). German dirt in the treads is free :)
