My Sirius subscription expires next month.

I like the service and I have not decided whether to go month to month or lifetime.

What would you do?

$12.95 per month
$499 lifetime, 3 receiver transfers allowed @$75 each.

To be honest, the $12.95 sounds like a better deal although mathematically it is not. I guess I am reluctant to give a volatile industry $500 up front when pricing could change in a few months.

I wouldn't get lifetime. You never know what is going to happen with this company. A merger could complicate things also. And who knows, you might find there's a better service a year or two down the line.

You could be right. Sirius already announced new receivers in which you can pick the stations you want resulting in a monthly bill around $5.99 per month.

Also, if you assume an average life of 10 years before something new and better is out, like Internet radio, the cost for 10 years of service (5 2-year plans) is $1359.

If you tuck $500 away for 10 years with interest, you will have over $1,000.

I imagine by then new satellites will be lauched and the new receivers won't apply to lifetime subscribers.

We have 3 cars with Sirius...I prefer to just do annual rather than dump $1500 :eeps:

Hopefully you realize that if all three receivers are on the same account, the 2nd and 3rd receiver are only $6.99 per month each.

You can have one main, a 3 more on the $6.99 plan. Also, each receiver/user can log in and use the streaming audio.

I have decided to go month to month paying $20 for my two cars together. If Sirius has the lifetime special at $399 again I may change my mind.

Yep - nice having 3 logins. One for me, one for the wife, and one for a friend (who is probably going to get Sirius for her car).
