Hi Gary,
I would like to help set up my brother's 2007 Mini Cooper S for auto-x. Are there any 15X7 wheels that would work with a 205/50 size R-compound tire? Would the 15X7 wheel with this tire size fit? What offsets would I need to use? Do you have any lightweight (forged) wheels that you could recommend. Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, 15X7 Kosei K1TS or OZ Ultraleggara would two popular, light, but durable and fairly economical cast wheels in for track use that will work well with 205/50R15 tires. On the higher end the forge Motegi Tracklite line is available. Offsets will vary but in the neiborhood of 35-40mm approx.

Hi Gary,
Thanks. So the wheels that you mentioned would not have any clearance issues (caliper, fender, suspension arms clearance issues) with the 205/50R15 size tires? Do you have the weights of these wheels handy? I noticed that SSR has the competition model in 15X7. Would that work too? Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, all three fit the vehicle (I wouldn't suggest wheels that dont fit your car :) )
Weights on the wheels :
OZ 12lbs, Kosei 12.5lbs, Motegi 10.5lbs. The SSR type C fits, 8lbs per wheel.
To search online, simply choose the base model Cooper to allow the site to show you 15".

Hi Gary,
For the SSR Competitions in the 15X7, how much are they? I can't find the pricing for that size on the website. What colors are available in that size?

These aren't Competitions anymore, but are called type C RS. $297 each and only available currently in dark grey painted (no more machined lips like the old Comp).
