Hello. I have a 1991 318i and a 2002 M3. However, I came across this ad on eBay for an E30 M3...my one true love.

Does anyone have any advice to give me on this car. I am familiar with BMW's and E30's, but not E30 M3's. Is the mileage too high for this high-performance car, or should I be aware of anything that may give me trouble. I know these questions seem vague, but any help would be appreciated. Can anyone ballpark an estimated price this car should sell for?
Thanks!!!!

Nice lookign car, but pictures can be deceptive. Mileage is not too high, but the key with E30 M3 is that they have the prevntative maintenance up to date. If they are taken car e of they will last for a long time. The thing to remember about older BMWs (especially M cars) is they can be expensive to repair. A rebuild on that motor will cost you at least $5k (and that is doing the work yourself)....figure $7-8k+ minimum if you pay somebody to do it.
Good luck....I have seen a lot of interest on the internet today about that car. It might get into a bidding war. Interesting it is at a BMW dealership. Very rare these days to see one at a BMW dealer.
I would not pay more than $15k for it. That is assuming it checks out and there is nothing majorly wrong with it.

It looks nice, minus the chrome wheels. It's now up to $15K.

These guys always have a collection of various E30 M3s:

The guys at carlocators just opened up a new BMW-only lot and repair shop.. just a few miles from where I work. I didn't know it was there... Driving by one day and almost wrecked the car!!
They have a lot of modified cars.. Very interesting stuff, but maybe a little overpriced, once they get their hands on it.

They had a meet early summer out there.
It's not for sale, but I LOVE the M5 Touring they imported. :yumyum:
