This may be common knowledge to most, so pardon me if that's so. Just bought a new 2007 335xi Sedan, with Sport Package and the 17" wheels. I completely hate the Style 158 wheels. And I don't like any of the official E90 wheels.
How do I determine what other wheels I can use on this car, other than matching the 5-120 bolt pattern? Is there a minimum and maximum offset? The E90 offerings have offsets from 30-37mm offsets, from what I can tell.
A dealer had leftover set of Style 71 wheels, in 17x8. This is the exact size of my 17" wheels. The Style 71 was used on E46 and Z4. I absolutely love this style of wheel. However, how do I confirm if those wheels (or any other Style #) will be OK on a new 335xi? My goal would be to move the tires from the current wheels to my replacements, as well. Again, the 158's and 71's both use 225/45 size.
And, if I did decide to jump up to 18" wheels, what parameters would apply there, as to offsets, wheel widths, tires, etc.?
ANY and ALL guidance or input will be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks
