hello my names matt i am from the midlands.

now i am sorry if this is in the wrong place! mods move it if need be sorry!

i drive a 323i coupe e36 just about to get a majour service on 137k i have a few issue with it i have tried searching but didnt get any results. car is also fitted with a toad alarm and has full closure.

1, window bounces back down on one touch button function,

drivers window, opperates perfectly fine if i hold my finger on the button if not it will intermittanty go up one touch but ususaly it will go up about half way sometimes varies then bounce back down like it thinks something is blocking it. i take it ppl must have came accross this before? i thought it was the rubber and it squeeks against it and shudders on the rubber towards the top so tried it with door open (coupe so no rubber) and it still bounces back down? the passanger side also does it but rarely..

2, squeek when pushing up and down the cluch pedal

my clutch pedel makes a squeek noise is this a slack cable noise is heard with car switched off also in sync with pressing and depressing the clutch.

3, anyone fitted 19" wheels i need advice on what springs to get? i am getting acs type 3 wheels.

regards

matt :)

England!

My clutch pedal does that, something about the bushings of the pedal, but I think it can also mean the clutch is on it's way out. Do you have lateral play in the pedal's movement?

Europe isn't really specific enough. You're right though, I should have known most people won't have heard of England in the US, so I should have said Europe.

I may have an original clutch! At 138k?

My Coupe does that, i tried the old button combination, which worked until i turned the car off, then it resorted back again. Given it the wife now as i have a convertible :), so its her problem! haha
Although you may as well give it a go, it works for some people.
if i remember rightly you disconnect the battery and hold the window up button for 10secs after the window is all the way up.

Welcome to the site!

The clutch pedal squeak is the bushes,

The windows bouncing back down is the anti jam mech cutting in, rumour is if you take the window motor out remove the brushes and clean it out it wont happen any more, Its something ive been meaning to do for a while!

Both are very common problems, and nothing to worry about!

What part of the midlands?

My drivers side window does that from time to time as well. i don't know what it is either, so if some1 has info on that, it would b appreciated.
I mean wine will go up if i tap it from time to time, but sometime it just goes about an inch up and goes down like 3 inches. Like its ridiculous

Talking about clutches, although my car drives very nicely - the clutch makes a wheezing noise when I dip it, maybe this is to do with the CDV, but should it make a noise? The car drives great, but I'd rather sort something before it dies!

Do a fluid flush mate!!

Maybe some air in there. Your brakes ok?

[QUOTE=L2DFP;2661237]Welcome to the site!

The clutch pedal squeak is the bushes[QUOTE]

Definitely. The clutch going out would be another, more irritating and horrible noise. A squeak, like a creaking door is the bushes. Go with the UUC clutch arm bushings.

Chek out this webpage;

http://www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/bmw_e36.html

Go to the 'known problems' section at the bottom of the page and chek out the 4th paragraph

It reads;

"On the coupes the windows can jerk up one inch at a time if they fail, this is because the magnet on the motor shaft moves out of position or falls off."

Not exactly wat ur describing but sounds very simliar

Worth checking the regulator slides too in case there is a problem with the guides sticking.
