So I went out and bought the necessary parts for my alternators air intake and installed it. However, when I started her up and reved the engine, I noticed that there was a slight whistle that was not there before. I can only assume that is is coming from the new air duct. Is this normal? :dunno: If this is occuring would that mean that it is haveing a more difficult time getting the air?

I expect it would be from the alternator's own fan, crossing air flow with your new duct's flow.

Not normal mate, though is not really causing a problem in reality

I would check the jubilee clip and position of the intake buddy

Nothing is hanging down over the alternator is it?

Just wondering... Why do you have an extra intake for the alt?
You running a microwave oven in there or something?

It goes from the top of the alternator to the top of the engine bay

Cool.
I can't say I've spent an awful lot of time under the bonnet in the YEAR I've had it, other than changing fluids, filters and plugs.

Which is the way I like my car to run.

Yeah pirate...Mine looks like yours. everything is tight and nothing is hanging down. Let me clarify that the whistle only occurs when I tap the accelerator. When I give it a little tap it gasps (whistles). However when I fully accelerate or when it is idleing it does not occur. I should have been more specific in the beginning:D
