Hi I am a Newbie to the Board.

I am having a problem with my new install of DICE/IPOD integration on my 01 740 IL w/dsp. I have power(IPOD is in Charging Mode when I turn on the Engine) and can control the IPOD but I get NO Sound. I searched the boards for a solution. Is there any "Step by Step " troubleshooting available. If someone could point me to specific post or internet site I would really aprreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Paul in ATL

How did you connect up the Audio to the DICE? A 2001 740 with DSP will almost definitally have 'Digital' DSP, there will be a small diameter coaxial cable in addition to the 6 pin connector. In order to use the DICE with Digital DSP you will need an A->D Converter, like this : http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/DENSION_DSP.html

Thanks for the response.

Ordered system from Dice with DSP.

Found correct 12 Volt source for power.

Disconnected battery.

Wired 12 source up source,

Connected wires

Reconnected wires then battery.

I am going to reconnect CD Changer to see whether I am getting sound ( It was working before I started Dice install)

Thanks again

It was connection to the amp. Evidently it was not powered up as I had thought. Went back and Read http://mike.hallzone.net/dice-install/ post and it clarified some things.

Everything is up and running?

Sometimes the connection for the DSP(little coax) is not fully seated or the plastic case on the DSP adapter prevents it from being able to be fully plugged in. Have to check all this from time to time to make sure everything is all connected.

Thanks Tom G,

Now that I have it up and running I am still trying to figure it out. Sure beats the heck out of the Cassette I was using.
