2006 750i Phone Directory

I just bought an used 2006 and paired up with my Razr. The one annoying thing I could not figure how to do is search my phone directory by alphabet. It list A-Z but I could not figure how to jump to B or K. In my Audi A6 Factory and my Garmin Nuvi Bluetooth it allows me to enter the name 1st alphabet to jump to that area, i.e. I don't have to scrow down to R for Robert....

Any advice how this can be done for the 750i?

Unfortunately the iDrive phone address book is quite useless. I find it easier to look for numbers using the Razr.

Agree. On my 2007 750 it is also useless. I have 2000 contacts in my address book and i cannot scroll below the letter "A" in less than 5 minutes on iDrive.. Totally useless.

How useful is Voice Command Phone Directory with 50 locations? Have any of you try this out. The few voice commands I tried seems difficult to use. The response does not show up in iDrive Display e.g. I say Telephone, the screen is still in NAV. It will be nice if it appear on screen so I know what is expected next... I will continue to try them out.

On a separate note, car drive very well but the electronics/software are way behing my other car, a 2005 Audi A6. I wonder the 2007 X5 or 2008 535i any better?
