What should I be doing while waiting for my 530i to come in? :dunno:

It's getting harder as the time gets closer and I'm not even scheduled to start production till April 4th.... :(

Spend a lot of time HERE! :D

Do not look at a calendar or watch. If you are really struggling with the wait, ask Alex Baumann how long he is/has been waiting for his B3!

1) spend time here - been doing that for the past month or two

2) During that time I have heard/read how long Alex has been waiting. I'd be checking myself in into a psychiatric ward or something.... let's hope that won't be necessary because I have some serious student loans to start paying back, and I don't want them to interfere with my BMW in any capacity!!!

Sounds like you are on the right track!

Here is a little secret about how Alex deals with his wait:

Nah, I'd rather put the money towards the car now to get lower payments and enjoy the manufacturer warranty.

However, I would like to get the Mtechnic aero package up front and in the back. Anyone know how much those kits costs.

Am I correct to assume that the Mtechnic kit looks like the M5 package?

Thanks,
Peter

I went to "have coffee" with my salesman this afternoon, as Saturdays are slow days for them. And I usually get some cool gifts - especially when he calls me and asks me to swing by ... :eeps:

Anyway, they had a brand brand new 530dT with the entire //M Sport Package sitting outside. :yikes:

Damn! Yes, front and rear bumpers are M5, plus a lot of other nice goodies. About the only thing that gave it away, i.e., not a M5 Touring (I know), was the exhaust. Diesel BMWs have the exhaust turned/bent down and this looks a bit strange with the M rear diffuser.

And I left with a new "5" key chain, a book about BMW, yet another umbrella and the parts manager ordered me a BMW Lifestyle trolley suitcase.

:eeps:

And he is giving it to me ... free.

A wagon like what? My crappy 520iAT? :dunno:

I don't have the €€ to buy the 530dT though - it is $76,000 USD ... :yikes:

However, you will have to wait a few weeks to see what I had to buy to get all of those gifts today. :eeps:

You were up LATE last night! :bigpimp:

I do have the brush and wheel cleaner (2 bottles) as PM posted below. It will also be time for a new Kärcher pressure washer.

My salesman did not mention the need for Prozac ...

:D

I have the brush set too. It's very useful and working relatively good on the 32s.

However, I would recommend you to buy a bigger brush as well. You can work with it much faster. Use the OEM brushes on the edges of the spokes where they are attached to the wheel.

Something like these :

Trust me :D

The parts department manager also mentioned some type of wheel wax that BMW has been looking into to cure the "brake dust issue"; have you heard about this?

Does the fact that I am getting Brilliant Line wheels make them any more or less difficult to keep clean? :dunno:

However, I don't really care. I enjoy those solemn moments spent twice a week cleaning my BMW! :D

No, I haven't heard of any wheel wax or similar. I am using P21S wheel protector on the wheels, comes in a spray can. After cleaning the wheels, you spray it and sweep it with a clean cloth. It's working like a quick detailer spray. But won't help to fight the notorious BMW brake dust :(

Brilliant line won't make them any less or more difficult to keep clean. Brilliant line refers to the paint. They are looking more like 'chrome' (but they are NOT) compared to the standard 32s.
