As I'm sure many (if not most) of you do, I have leather seats in my X3. I was starting to think about how best to clean/protect them.

I know BMW offers their own product, but I didn't know if others had had better experiences with other products. (For example, I've seen that certain product lines have a combined cleaner/protector, whereas other product lines seem to have separate items for each.)

Just looking for whatever info folks might have on the topic. Always good to learn from the prior experience of others.

One word, "Zaino"

I use Z-9 and Z-10,

Z-9 with a soft bristle brush and

Z-10 actually smells like leather.

Thanks for the info on Z-10 .. I am looking for a great protector too. I am sure Griots has one .. but I've never used it yet. You think that the Z-10 is a better product?

I've heard of, but never used Griots.

I will say that Zaino is top shelf. Even a few weeks after using it, if the car is facing the the sun, the leather seats smell like new leather again. (I also use this on my leather seats for my 03 Mustang GT).

I'm lucky that I live about 40 minutes away from a shop that sells Zaino, but I would still pay for shipping if I had no choice.

Just go on any car news group and do a search for Zaino. Nothing but praise.

No, seriously, I use it on the E46 and did Mrs. W's X3 the other day. I've just about used up this bottle (1 qt?) in about four years and plan to get some more when it runs out...

I've been using Lexol cleaner and conditioner for many years, on both light and dark leathers with fine results, FWIW.

I have no affiliation with them but tried Zaino on my X3's leather seats after reading a similar recommendation here and it dose work really well at cleaning.

Lexol has been around since I can remember cleaning tack at my parents horse stables 30years ago. They sound like a good bet.

However, Armor All makes a great wipe in a box one that is great for those Starbucks spills that always happen at the worst time.

Thanks for all of the tips!

And, yes, Evlengr, part of this thread was Starbucks' motivated.

x2...and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. About $8.00 per bottle and it works great on all leathers.
