What does the tripometer do when you press and hold the reset tripometer button and then turn the ignition in the second position? It starts showing all these numbers and then the arrows from the rpm annd speedometer turn all the way up and then drop back down. Does that maybe show the original miles the car has passed?

It shows various numbers, like VIN numbers, others, the number of turns of the wheel that corresponds to 1 mile. Nothing of real interest unless you want to check whether the ID numbers on the car are the same as the ones in the computer. It's cool to see the gauges move as well, and I guess it tests them!
