what do you guys think the value of a 2002 325i will be in about 4 years time?

edit* let's assume an avg of 12k miles per year so 48k miles in 2006.

my 325i has SP/Prem/CWP and is a 5 speed.

It's going to be kept in immaculate shape but I was wondering if this will be the 2nd car for the long haul or would it be the trade in for //My next car :)

the 99's are worth anywhere from 16-20k, should i expect a similar type of depreciation? does it make a difference that the 02s are closer to the end of e46 production vs the 99's which were the first of the e46?

I would expect price range would be similar to what the '99s are going for today. However, I plan to keep this car for the long haul. If I do get a new one, my 325i would serve as a "beater".

I have 21,000+ miles on it after 1 year. :yikes:

I hear ya Pete.

I took delivery back at the begining of May and i've gotten 17k on mine already :yikes: I don't think i'll hit 21k. I'm forcing my self back on public transportation.

it's just too much fun to drive though :thumbup:

It sure is. I find excuses to go driving all the time. Even short trips to the grocery store are that much more enjoyable in the UDM. :thumbup:

I have already kept mine for the long term and plan on driving it atleast another five years.

It is too hard to give up a car once you have it set up the way you want it. Also, it is a lot cheaper to mod your car than to buy a new one.

Also, most of your depreciation is in the first four years. You lose less value for each year you keep it.

There is one exception in my book, if the car is in an accident and suffers frame damage, it is gone. They never drive the same as before the damage.
