View Full Version : 550 Accel Lag?????

I have a 2007 550i and I have noticed for awhile now a lag between pushing the pedal down and the acceleration it delivers. I brought it to the dealer and they say "no problem". Has anyone experienced this or experiencing this? It is driving me crazy because the speed, power, accel. is the beauty of the 550I

I had the same thing in late spring, also at the time the idle seemed to be too low, was hunting sometimes, there was no exact pattern. When I brought it in to the dealer, also told them there was a long delay in pressing down the gas pedal until the car reacted.

They update some engine management software, called to tell me the gas pedal checks out okay. Well the update did the trick, the idle was a little higher and more consistent and the pedal works well. 10,000 miles later though, the idle is too low for a second or two then rebounds, it is going back soon.

I remember my fathers 750iL had bad throttle delay. I took it in and they fixed it. Now the car responds as it should. You dont have the .5 second delay anymore, which almost got him killed pulling out into traffic

i have the same issue. you need to switch to DS or push the sportbutton. then th car willjump when you stomp the throttle. hopefully the newsport trany has solved the issue

What is a "sprint booster" and is it for all 5 series, automatics too?
