Feel'en good today. I contact the dealer about 2 months ago about getting the SAT radio installed ( BMW Option Sirius.) I was willing to pay and schedule the OEM install. How dissappointed I was when I gave my VIN and the rep said, " Sorry you don't have pre-wire."

Well.... Thanks to this site and some good posts I found EAS. I purchased the XM radio kit for the X5 it claime that you just plug it into the pre-existing CD Changer plugs located in the rear, mount the antenna and go live witht he subscription.

Now get this. The XM displays on the head unit and the VDO display automatically. I mean I spent 199.00 bucks installed it in under 30 minutes and I have a factory working SAT system. I can use the steering wheel controls, head unit and memory save features built into the BMW head unit.

( Yes the pre wire CD changer plugs were right there just as EAS said they would be)

Is this an 07 x5. Sounds like it may be a prior model. I did not see that they had a solution on the EAS web site yet for XM and the E70 BMW X5s.

I have a 2005 X5.

FYI I have the premium package w/out NAV. Don't know if that makes a difference. Maybe call them.
