I have an 87 535i and need to know if the valve adjustment on my car is hard and what goes into doing it. Thanks

You will need a new valve cover gasket. You need a couple special tools: something to move the eccentric ( small allen wrench or some bent coat hanger should work), and a feeler gauge.

I have yet to perform one on my 535is but from I've read about the procedure it doesn't seem too difficult.
