I think you may be referring to a "gloss enhancing" spray. This type of product is typically used after waxing to remove any remaining wax residue and bring out that extra bit of shine. People also use these products for touch ups between washings.
Many of the leading car care product manufacturers offer their own versions of this spray. My personal favorites are the Meguiar's Final Inspection and Quik Detailer sprays.

I use Griots "Speed Shine", it has some wax in the stuff, kinda adds an extra protection to the already waxed finish. I use it after washes, and when I claybar as a lubricant. Great stuff. Removes water spots if you choose to wash your car in the sun. You do not want to use this stuff in the sun though, especially on a black finish!
