We are considering PDC delivery and we're wondering if we could both share in the experience.

Can we return our current leased X5 to the Performance Center or does it have to go to a dealer?

My wife is coming along with me to to the PC next week! I believe your lease return would have to go to a dealer....

I'll be interested in your experience. In the PCD FAQ they make mention that your guest would have to wait in the cafe. As I am sure is the case with you and your bride neither one of us wants to wait in the cafe.

Where does it say that???

I searched and the word cafe isn't even in the FAQ.

It does say this:

The BMW Performance Center Delivery program is an exciting and unique opportunity in which a customer and guest can fully experience the BMW culture. Included in the program is a complimentary one-night stay (including meals) at a luxurious hotel, professional driving instruction in a BMW similar to..

From BMWUSA's site on PCD: http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/PerformanceCenter/faq.htm#delivery_faq (http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/PerformanceCenter/faq.htm#delivery_faq)

Is it possible to bring a guest?
The school is designed for registered participants only. Your guest may lounge at our outdoor patio or enjoy our M café. They will not be permitted on the course.

It doesn't say how many "registered participants" per delivered car. That may apply only to Performance School students. :dunno:

That answer in the the school part of the FAQ. I don't think it applies to delivery customers.

The school courses are different then the delivery experience. Delivery experience is for you and a guest. You both get to participate and take turns during the driving portions.

When we went this past summer one party actually had 3 people with them. They were quite accomodating. All 3 were allowed in the car but I dont think more than 2 took part during any one event.

You & your wife can definitely both participate. I think my wife was a little nervous at first, but she warmed up to it quickly once the fun started. In fact, once she saw how well the car performed in the braking and skidpad exercises, she's more confident about driving it. I think it boosted her confidence in her driving skills as well.

In fact, I went along with a Mosport70 on his delivery and was able to participate just as he did.

Both of you will definetely get to participate. The delivery program is set up for two people, unlike the driving schools. As mentioned above the driving school FAQ's are listed first and then the Delivery FAQ's. They did a poor job of seperating the two and can easily be missed.

As for your lease vehicle, it must be returned to a BMW Retail Center. The nearest BMW Center to us would be Century BMW in Greenville, SC.

What is the age cut-off? Could you bring a 16-yr-old as the 2nd participant?

Depends on the state were you live. As long as they have a driver's license and are accompanied by parent or guardian who can sign off on the teen waiver, they can participate. Some states issue a permit at 15 years old and some do it at 16.

Hope that makes since. Let me know if you need more details.
