cv joint

I've been looking for an inner rear cv joint for my car. a 1987 535is. Bentley's tells me the joints can be removed/replaced. BMW doenst agree. any suggestions on locating or if any other year would work.

I read in another forum that you can get the whole assembly (2 CV joints and halfshaft) remanufactured w/warranty at O'Reilly's for around $50. Search in your area for automotive part stores (NAPA, etc.) and give them a ring and see what they've got. It is much easier to just replace the whole thing (bolts at both sides, remove, install new part, tighten bolts, done). If you do, I've read that the bolts need to be "loctited" in place with a thread sealant. They tend to loosen up after a while and you'll destroy it.

Went and had it rebuilt for a hundred dollars.

Everthing is moving up to speed.
