: Fogged Headlight cover help

I know this must have been covered somewhere before, but I've
searched and can't find anything.

I have a 2001 X5 with fogged/clouded polycarbonate lenses. I got
a good plastic polish and used a high speed buffer, no go. It seems
really etched. I thought it may be on the inside, but the surface
feels rough.

Can you just buy the lens or do you have to get the whole assembly?
I have Xenon headlights.

Any idea of cost??

thanks in advance for any input or links to a discussion thread.

I went to the 3M website and they had this whole involved
set of products and part numbers to fix the headlights. I went
shopping for the super fine wet sand papers and ran into
$20 kit and it worked GREAT! You essentially wet sand
in 2 grits, use a polish, then use a plastic clear coat. Permanet

I found the product in an Advance parts store for $20. I think
Walmart has 'em too.

Beats paying $500 for new lenses!
