I'm still looking for anyone that has successfully put 19" or 20" rims on their 318ti. Just wondering what needed to be done if anything to make them fit with a decents drop spring on the car. Anyone out there that has any info I'd appreciate your feedback. I'm not looking for opinions (but I'm sure I'll get some) on whether this is cool or not. I want to know details from someone that has done it. Thanks.

18s barely fit. 19s are a bit much and 20s are ridiculous. Neither of the latter will fit unless you want to put your car on lifts and carve out your wells. If you want big rims, go buy an Escalade (sure, opinion, but you get my point).

No. Nobody on earth has 19's or 20's on their 318ti. Your idea is the first.

i have the 17" m3 wheels on my 328 and leme tell you.. those look just about right. I dont think id like to go much more, especially 19" or 20"

I personally think that 17"s or 18"s are the largest that id go and it still be tasteful.

Why? Your car will perform terribly with them. The car was made for 17's and looks ridiculous with most 18's.

Can't imagine why anyone would do this, but if you want to keep looking it's fine with me.

Sorry, I forgot to ask: What the heck is a "decents drop spring?" I don't think I've ever seen that in a catalog.

Did you say something??? Jesus....couldn't get by that profile pic. Thanks for the feedback. I figured they were too big. Since I wrote that I found some pics of twenties and they look stupid. I've seen a 328 (I know it's a whole different car) with either nineteens or twenties on them and they were properly stuffed and it looked great. It's actually on here in the "Pics of your e36" forum. Maybe I'll just have to wait to get a bigger, better car to get something that big. Check them out and let me know what size you think they are. His call name is LAWRNCE or something like that. It's white. I emailed him a while ago but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Sorry, a spring with a "decent" amount of drop. I'm over the 19's and 20's anyway. I've seen a 328 with them on it and it looked sick cuz it was done right but not on a 318. Thanks for the feedback though. Smart ass. lol.

See how 19s don't look wrong when they are on the right car? To have 19s you would have to have a very slim profile, but then the ride will be very stiff. They are just too big regardless of that though! The M3 CSL below has 235/35/19 Front & 265/30/19 Rear.

I think I'm gonna go with 18's even if I have to do some customizing. That will give me my show/touring car look without getting too out of control. I appreciate the feedback from everyone. 18 x 8's with 225/40/18's shouldn't give me too many problems. I was mulling over the option of going with 225/35/18's to give me a little more clearance since I plan on installing a set of H & R Sport springs. Would that be a good option? Tire Rack gives the option of going staggered with 18 x 9's with 245/35/18's in the back. Not sure if I want to do that. Anyone have any feedback on staggering. Gives it a little different look and bigger patch in the back. I guess that's always good but I don't know if I like the staggered look.
