Hi, I need a set of pads (front and rear) for a 97 540iA. I don't drive or race the car, driving it only to work without abusing it, so I think I need basic pads. But the main concern why I don't want to go OEM is because of the brake dust. Can someone recommend something suitable for my needs and is affordable. Also, please tell me where I can buy them locally (montreal) or over the net.

Thanks

Check http://www.bmwtips.com/ under the "Tips n Tricks" and then "brakes" section. As for local suppliers, once you find a pad you want, go to the manufactuer's website and check for distributors. Let us know what you decide on.

I've found the Axxis Deluxe Plus pads to be very good for reducing dust while having sufficient performance for the heavy E39. My M5 customers are ordering these pads like hotcakes.
