Does anyone have any experience with the little flap where the key is inserted into the door lock. Mine seems to have disappeared. I'm fairly certain it's lodged inside but I can't get it back into place.
Is there a way to get that assembly apart? Can I remove just the cover? Can I replace just the cover?
Thanks

Hi
Not really a serviceable part. Have you tried spraying WD-40 (or similar) into it and giving it a thump?

Funny thing is - that's what started it. My daughter said that her key wouldn't work so I stuck the WD-40 tube in the slot and the flap disappeared.

I know the feeling. Try to fix and it gets worse..... :(
Anyway, you could try removing the lock cylinder and perhaps turning it upside down on a table and tapping it LIGHTLY. Other than that, unless you're a locksmith, I don't think the cylinder is exactly something that's good to be fiddling with, and I doubt you'll be able to easily get it apart, let alone get it together.

I'll fiddle with it on the weekend when I can work on it with some daylight. I don't think I can make it worse.
