I just bought an E90 330i (2006 with 17K mi) last week, and am looking for a Winter wheel/tire set to change out the OEM 18" sport package wheels for the season. I see some 225/45R17 RFT sets at the TireRack website that seem appropriate, but I gather from other posts that there I may need some Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) hardware on the rims.
2 unrelated questions:
1. Do I need to purchase and/or install some TPM hardware for the new rims?
2. Based on a lot of what I have read hare and elsewhaere online, I am considering getting rid of the RFT tires on the 18" rims when they wear out. What are folks thoughts on using one of the aforementioned winter wheels/tires as an emergency spare?
