Quick questions- If I do a PCD, will I have my NY plates on the car when I pick it up? How is that arranged? Thanks

If you are transferring plate from one car to another, then bring the plates with you. If your getting temporary plates, bring them with you.

What Me530 said. I brought mine with me and the PCD people put them on. Good to go.

I think my dealer told me that the new plates (not temporary) would be shipped and put on the car upon delivery.

If we did ED, will they let us keep one of the plates that's still on the car?

We removed the front plate and put it in our checked luggage.

At the Performance Center we found the rear plate neatly arranged in our X3's cargo compartment.

I don't want the front plate holes drilled in my Z4's bumper upon delivery.

Anyway to tell them DON'T before it is given to me?

For new vehicles being delivered here, we never put anything on the front until the customer is here and tells us to do so.

For ED taking PCD, we have no control over what is done prior to the vehicle arriving here. From what I have been told from other ED customers on this board that took re delivery at the PCD, you can make a special request to ED before you go to have them not drill the front bracket on. I believe they will use doulble sided tape to hold the bracket on instead. Below is a thread and a poll about this on the ED Board.

FWIW, ended up being double-sided tape on mine, without any kind of request (although I suppose to be safe, you could let them know ahead of time).

They did hand me the front and rear license plate brackets at the Welt, which I left in the trunk when I dropped the car off at Harms.

YMMV.

Thanks Jonathan for the reassurance. Hope to meet ya in March along with some other PC employees. Actually will try and bring our NoHoles plate holder from the Z4 to use while returning through various states to Houston.

All wee need now is a firm date from our dealer and a Stonegard clear bra installer appointment! Getting more excited by the day!

1. I wouldn't rely on someone to get my plates or temp permit to the Performance Center for me. If your car doesn't have proper tags, it won't be leaving with you that day.

2. I think BMW in Munich is using sticky tape now for the Zoll plates on ED cars.

3. My car was returned to me in the US with both Zoll plates in the trunk (along with two Monroney stickers).
