My 7 series was parked in my drive. The local supermarket next door (concrete multi-storey) is having the concrete sprayed white to make it more appealing (and to hide the graffiti)! However, the plonkers doing the spraying didn't cover up right and some has gone over my car. It's not just at one end or one side of the car but all over - the windows, trim, paintwork et al - you name it!
It's not that noticeable until the car is cleaned and then it stands out like a sore thumb (as the car is deep metalic blue in colour).
My local BMW dealership has tried to clean the paint off but cannot. They say the car needs a complete respray. The insurance company (of the supermarket) is trying to get away with the line that they'll "clean" the car. What with I do not know, but someone suggested to me a clay system. I have done some research on this and whilst it might be a good DIY feat for a small part of a car it's hardly the right thing to re do a whole 7 series is it?
Also, what is the long term damage and effect? And surely it works better if it's rubbed harder but then ................. again what long term effect on the car.
And then there's my BMW warranrty. Surely a third party doing this sort of thing might invalidate it?
Any help / advice from someone who's been down this road would be good. Plus, anyone know any websites where owners have won against the wishes of an insurance company when the manufacturers view takes precedence?
Thanks all
