I am in the process of doing a 3 car deal and I would like opinions and help in doing so.
These are the 3 cars I'm negotiating:
i) 2004 CPO X3 3.0 - with 27,000milles
I will purchase this car with BMWs current deal of 1.9% financing and BMW makes the first 2 payments.
I was quoted $24,200 which I accepted.
ii) I will also need to lease a 2008 328i convertible with leather/ auto / heated seats / premium package -
MSRP $48,400
MF .00314
Res 63%
With $2878 upfront ( 1st month / Sec $800 / Bank Fee $625 / Doc $249 / MV $262/ tx $186 )
They quoted me for 36 mos ( includes tax )
12,000 mi - $755
15,000 mi - $780
iii) I will also need to lease a leftover 2007 335xi sdn
MSRP $46,375
Cap $44,000 ( It's a leftover and they only discounted it 4.9% )
MF .00190
Res .66 ( $30,607)
With $ 2080 upfront ( 1st mo / Sec $600 / Bank / Doc / MV )
They quoted me for a 33 mos
12,000 mi $ 598 ( includes tax )
The deal breaker is I have to get out of my current lease...
which has 15 mos left at $475 - Lease Termination is $6000.
I am willing to pay about 1/2 or 3000 to get out of it...
but I want the dealer to absorb the balance $3000.
The are unwilling to do this - all they keep doing
is increasing one of the lease by about $100/month to make up the $3000
I need help cause I feel I am giving them a great deal and they are not helping me out
of my lease to make the deal!
WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
My dealer is saying they only work on 7-8% MU on the car.
So in my example, on their lease worksheet, the MSRP is $46,375 for a 2007 335XI SDN-
The Price is $44,000 / money factor is .00190 / residual is .66 ( $30607) -
0 down payment - (except for security $600 /1st month $598 / Bank Fee 500 / Doc Fee 250 )
To arrive at a 36 mos of $598/mos - 12,000 mi/yr

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
Wait until the end of the lease...

Yes, I could wait until the end of the lease...
the car is a Murano...and I'd rather be driving a BMW:)
I'm willing to pay half of it, to get out.... abt 3000...
I just want a better deal from the dealer and I feel with a 3 car purchase they could/should be doing more for me...for the balance
3000...and not simply building 100 into a 36 mos lease!
don't you agree?

If they are not willing to give you the deal then all you can do is walk to your Murano and drive off!
Seriously, if you want to drive a BMW then either you hand over the 6K or try another dealer.

IMO, save yourself all the trouble and keep the car until the end of the lease. $3,000 is a lot of money for a dealer to discount over and above the deals they have already offered you. If you can go with a stand alone deal, I think the $755/mo deal for the 328 lease is pretty good.

stay in the lease. you're just rolling negative equity into another lease so you're paying interest on top of the negative equity you carry over.
6K of negative equity is a hard pill for any dealer to swallow.

The $3k has to come from SOMEWHERE, and if the dealer would readily give you that $3k it would just mean that you had negotiated bad deals on the new purchases. That kind of money doesn't grow on trees . . .
It's VERY common (if you are demanding a good price on the new car) to not be able to get out of a lease without rolling the negative equity into the new deal.

Yes, agreed...I may have to keep the murano
the X3 is a great deal
the 328i conver seems good as well
the 335xi may have to wait...
unfortunitely, the 335xi was for me,
and the other two cars are not!

swapalease the murano or sell it.

If you financed the Murano through Nissan FS, you need to hold on to the Murano. Normally I would say to use swap a lease or leasetrader, but Nissan does not recognize lease transfers. You remain on the hook for the lease even if it's transferred. Never finance with Nissan Financial Services again.
Wait on the vert. It's winter and you still aren't getting a reduction from MSRP. That 07 335i deal isn't that great either. If you must have a vert. and want a great deal, get a leftover Z4 roadster. The deals on them are incredible right now. A few festers have gotten them for $10,000 less than invoice (Not $10,000 less than MSRP, $10,000 less than invoice). Check the Z4 section.

Yup, financed through Nissan FS...so I'm stuck with it for awhile...
But I'm curious why you don't think the deal on the 2007 is a good deal?
Dealer is selling it to me with invoice price of $43,705, selling it for $43,987.25.
MSRP $46,375
Cap $44,000
MF .00190
Res .66 ( $30,607)
With $ 2080 upfront ( 1st mo / Sec $600 / Bank / Doc / MV )
They quoted me for a 33 mos
12,000 mi $ 598 ( includes tax )
What would be a good deal?

My comment on the 335i didn't come out right. What I meant to say is that 335i's don't have great price breaks because they are a new model as well although not as hot as the vert. Three hundred dollars over invoice would be incredible, but I don't think that's what he is offering.
There is something wrong with the numbers you are showing. According to your numbers the difference between MSRP and the invoice cost is only $2,700. Without ANY options, the MSRP is $3,110 more than invoice. I estimate the difference between MSRP and Invoice for a $46K list car is more like $3700 rather than $2700. That being said, $1300 invoice is still a pretty good deal.

My dealer was offering this 1.9. I checked with another dealer and they said it was not offered?
I asked the dealer why the other dealer said they could NOT give the 1.9%?
He said BMW gave the dealer the option to offer either the 1.9% or 2.9%...
but if they get the 2.9%, the dealer can keep the 1%.
They even let me finance the tax and MV fees!
I'm paying nothing out of pocket and don't pay anything for 3 mos...
BMW will make the 1st 2 payments!
I found this pretty interesting...good learning experience...on the finan offer from 2 dealers.
my negotiated price on the X3 was 24,200.
It has a 3.9, 27,000 miles, titan metalic, Prem Pk, Leather, Auto, Pan roof...
they put on new tires and new mat in the CPO ck up.
Not a bad deal.

X3 is for my daughter, she turned 17...
328i is for my xwife - I'm not paying for it, just neg the deal for her...
335 is for ME...meanwhile I just sold my 2nd car, a corvette and only have the Murano to drive!!! Which unfortunitely, I'm stuck with for awhile....
Although, the sales mang said he'd call BMW corp for an executive car, which he feels he'll be able to bury the 6,000 neg equity...
this is a good delaer!!!

I did not have 2007 invoice costs, but the car has as MSRP of $46375.
It's a sdn, not a cpe.
It has 6 spd steptronic, Prem Pk, Htd Frt Seats. Met Paint.
What are these options worth?
The Sales Mang said he is selling this car at $200 over Inv , $44,000
Maybe someone , who has 2007 Inv costs can check this out.

I'm a good dad
we do what we gotta do !
you'll find that the executive deal will probably be better on an X3.
